Danceformer – a slow Sunday afternoon

This is what 2 hours of boredom on a slow Sunday afternoon made me do. Behold!!! THE DANCEFORMER!!

IIMA Chaos’10 Teaser

This was done under the banner of our firm Purple Leaf Design, IIM Ahemedabad’s cultural festival Chaos’ team being our first client.The job was to work upon the total identity and branding of the festival, which required us to come up with a logo, website, print and a teaser.

All the tasks had 5 of us sitting together and discussing. Then then the tasks were divided.

The website was made to look like a 3d theater, so as to go with the theme “70mm” of the festival. Website can be checked out here [ ignore the stupid popup] . Lastly,it was the teaser. We made it in After Effects, after constant slogging  for about a week.

Morals – always??

This was a stopmotion i made under my 6th sem course, Animation Fundamentals. Took 3 sittings to make this. Not really the way i wanted it, but compared to amount of effort i put in this, it came out satisfactory. The submission was already too late [:P].

The idea came from seeing numerous cups lying in our studio, availability of whiteboards all around me and a desperation to complete a stop-motion with an original idea in 3 days or nights to be more precise; and yes last but not the least, forceful inclusion of a moral. This excersice left me thinking…… do we always need well stated morals?

Anyways, the stop-motion was completed neverthless in expected time. Thanks vivek and jagriti 🙂

My Planet Earth

It is the submission for the event 24 Frames under Manthan’09 -The inter hostel cult-fest. The provided theme was “My Planet Earth”. The competition wanted 3 min. movies to be made using only photographs.

This was made in 2 days, has total of about 270 photographs. The final result is quite rough and shaky due to unavailability of tripod and being shot over a period of 2 days.

I tried to depict the human nature of overlooking the effects of the things we do and finally our desperate attempts to make things better again.The painting never recovers the green parts fully even till the end; this was done to depict that the consequences are long term and need proper attention to be really corrected.
